Endless Possibilities

Redefining the Future of Design

Premier Homes was founded in 1999 by Jason Britt, working alongside his wife April, with a clear vision: build homes defined by thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship and lasting value. From the beginning, the company focused on functional floorplans, beautiful design and homes built to stand the test of time. In its early years, Premier Homes developed subdivisions and built a wide range of homes from speculative builds to fully custom residences throughout North Texas.
Today, Premier Homes focuses on a limited number of luxury custom homes each year. By intentionally building only a small number of homes annually, the team is able to prioritize craftsmanship, clear communication and a highly personalized building experience for every client. Homes are built using a cost plus structure, giving homeowners transparency throughout construction along with the flexibility to select materials, finishes and design elements that reflect their vision. We primarily build in Hood, Johnson, Parker and Tarrant counties, though our work occasionally extends beyond those areas. Whether clients already own land or are searching for the right homesite, Premier Homes helps guide each step of the process, including assisting with lot acquisition through our in-house real estate services when needed.
Our goal is simple: for every homeowner to feel heard, supported and well cared for throughout the entire building process. What sets Premier Homes apart is the intention behind each home. Floorplans are designed for natural flow, generous storage and everyday functionality, while energy-efficient building practices and a cohesive aesthetic ensure every detail feels thoughtfully considered. Our goal is simple: for every homeowner to feel heard, supported and well cared for throughout the entire building process.

Our Process

During this first meeting we review inspiration images, discuss floorplan ideas and talk through the entire building process including selections, bidding, financing and expected timelines. If you already have a plan we review it together. If not, we can explore one of Premier’s stock plans, modify an existing design or connect you with an architect to design a home from scratch. This conversation helps ensure everyone begins the process with clarity and realistic expectations.
Many of our clients already own land, but if you are still searching we are happy to help guide you through that process. Because of our construction experience we can help evaluate how a particular lot will affect the build. We often help clients estimate site preparation considerations, utilities and how a home will best sit on the property. If needed, Laiken Clayton can also assist with the purchase of land using her MLS access and real estate experience to help locate and secure the right homesite for your project.
Clients may bring their own plans, choose from one of Premier Homes’ stock plans or work with an architect to design a fully custom home. All Premier stock plans can be modified to suit your needs. When architectural plans are needed, we are happy to recommend trusted third-party architects based on the style, scope and goals of the home being built. For clients interested in professional design assistance, we can also recommend an interior designer we have successfully partnered with on past projects. Working with an interior designer is optional. Clients may make selections independently or rely on as much guidance from our team as they prefer throughout the process. During this phase we focus on creating a home that functions well, flows naturally and reflects your style.
Premier Homes operates on a cost plus structure, which means our pricing is fully transparent. Before contracting, we gather bids from our trusted vendors and subcontractors based on the client’s floorplans and specifications, then organize them into a clear spreadsheet outlining the projected cost of the home. We review this estimate together in detail so you understand exactly what is included. Our professional builder fee of 20 percent is added to the construction cost. The numbers provided are estimates based on vendor bids, and clients may review invoices upon request at any time. If any line items begin to exceed the projected budget, Premier Homes communicates those changes immediately so adjustments or approvals can be made without slowing down construction. Our goal is to keep the financial side of the build straightforward and easy to understand.
Selections are typically completed in stages throughout the early phases of construction. Exterior selections are prioritized first since they impact the earliest stages of the build. These include items such as roof shingles, windows, exterior doors and masonry materials. Interior selections soon follow and include cabinetry, appliances, countertops, plumbing fixtures, tile, flooring, lighting, paint colors, hardware, trim and interior doors. Most selections are made directly with our trusted vendors in their showrooms. These vendors have already bid the project, which allows the selection process to remain organized and efficient. Laiken is available to assist throughout the process or clients may choose to work with an interior designer if they prefer.
Once construction begins, our senior construction manager Justin Favors oversees the day-to-day progress of the build while working in constant communication with our team. Justin and Laiken stay closely coordinated throughout the project, ensuring construction progress, selections and client communication remain aligned every step of the way. Clients receive regular updates through our BuilderTrend software system, where progress photos and updates are shared in a private client portal. Homeowners are always welcome to call, text or email Justin or Laiken directly with questions. Justin manages the construction of the home while Laiken assists with selections, financing coordination, closing and warranty support to help guide the process from start to finish. Throughout construction, clients will also be prompted to complete scheduled walkthroughs of the home to review progress and make key decisions such as cabinetry configuration, electrical specifications, closet system customization and other important details as the home takes shape. The average build timeline is approximately eight months, depending on the size and scope of the home as well as weather conditions.
As the home nears completion, we schedule a final walkthrough with the homeowners. During this time we review how the home functions and provide an opportunity for clients to create their own punch list of any items that need attention before move-in. Clients are also welcome to obtain a third-party inspection if they wish. Premier Homes provides a 1-2-10 in-house warranty along with a 30-day landscaping warranty. Appliances are typically covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. Our goal is to ensure homeowners feel confident and comfortable in their new home from day one.
